Some Herstory

This is the 29th Annual Women's Fair, so you know it's got some great history around it and we'd like to share a bit of info for those of you who may be new to the fair. This incredible event was created by the women at Lanark County Interval House, our local shelter for abused women and their children. It started out as a unique way to support womne entrepreneurs and crafters while raising some much needed funds for the shelter.

Honestly, it's still the same wonderful opportunity for local women in business and sales and a fantastic fundraiser for the shelter, we've just gotten a lot bigger over the last 3 decades. This year is the very first time the fair is being run by an outside organization and we're very excited to have the Rotary Club of Carleton Place and Mississippi Mills take over this event on behalf of Lanark County Interval House.

The only way we can ever make a difference in ending violence against women and children is if our entire community gets involved to make a difference so it's incredibly wonderful to see this new community partnership develop.

Even though it's now hosted by The Rotary Club, all of the same high standards are still in place and all of the proceeds still go directly to Lanark County Interval house. We're happy to answer any questions you may have about this change and if you have any questions about the shelter and their many programs and services please feel free to visit their website at www.lcih.org or call their 24hr Helpline at
